As an annual feature, this year a residential programme to Shoghi, Shimla was organized by the school for students of grades X,XI and XII from October 1, 2024 to October 5, 2024. The escapade was to camp in the lap of the paradise and traverse through plethora of adventurous activities. Amritians not only learnt about flora and fauna but also appreciated the unique experience of being one with nature. Guerrilo Warfare, Mountain biking, Night Trek, Reflection at Bonfire, Journal Writing, Zip Line were few of the activities that made the Amritians more venturesome.

Celebrating the Brilliance of Our Students at INS Shivaji, Lonavala

We are thrilled to announce that two talented students from Grade IX of Amrita Vidyalayam have brought glory to our school by securing the 2nd position in the National Level Inter-School Quiz Competition held at INS Shivaji, Lonavala, on 6th December 2024.

The rich heritage of Maharashtrian culture was depicted splendidly by the teachers and students of Amrita Vidyalayam on the occasion of Marathi Bhasha Guarav Din. The entire assembly consisting of thought, news and pledge were conducted in Marathi on the occasion of the birth anniversary of noted Marathi litterateur V.V. Shirwadkar alias ‘Kusumagraj.’ Students dressed in traditional “nav vaari” invited our School Administrator Brni Sharanyamritaji and Principal Mrs. Anupama Rao, and started the cultural program with a prayer song.

Their performance highlighted India’s contributions to various scientific fields, emphasizing the nation’s rich heritage of innovation and discovery. Following the skit, a student delivered a heartfelt speech, expressing admiration for India’s scientific pioneers and emphasizing the importance of nurturing curiosity and critical thinking in young minds. The event concluded with a message of scientific exploration and innovation.

The function was presided over by Chief Guest Ms. Sonal Majeethia, Swami Avyayamritananda Puriji and School Administrator Brni Sharanyamrita Chaitanyaji, with our proud parents in the audience.

A health and hygiene session titled “Healthier Kids, Stronger India” was conducted by Savlon for Class 3 students, highlighting the importance of cleanliness and personal hygiene. The students enthusiastically engaged in activities that emphasized the significance of proper handwashing in preventing diseases. At the end of the session, handwash bottles and certificates were distributed to all participants. The workshop concluded with the students taking a pledge to uphold and promote hygiene practices in their daily lives.

On August 24, 2024, with utmost devotion and fervour, the students, teachers, and staff of Amrita Vidyalayam celebrated Krishna Janmashtami. The assembly began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by our esteemed Principal. The pre-primary students charmed everyone with their delightful dance performances and fashion walk. This was followed by a soulful bhajan by our Hindi faculty, Ms. Poonam, which deeply resonated with the audience. Students from Classes 3 to 5 rendered the devotional song “Achyutam Keshavam,” filling the atmosphere with reverence.

The event saw enthusiastic participation, with students creating elaborate and artistic jhankis that beautifully depicted various scenes from the life of Lord Krishna. Each presentation was a testament to the creativity and devotion of the participants, capturing the essence of Janmashtami and deepening their connection to the festival’s cultural and spiritual significance.
