World Environment Day, celebrated annually on June 5th, aims to raise global awareness and promote action for environmental protection. Organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), it serves as the largest international platform for environmental outreach, engaging millions of people worldwide.
Amrita Vidyalayam Pathanamthitta celebrated World Environment Day with a series of impactful activities organized by the Science Department, centered around the theme "Ending Plastic Pollution." Students demonstrated their commitment to the environment through the Amartya Shastra Science Bulletin Board, which featured informative posters and displays. Additionally, a Special Assembly conducted by Classes 9 and 10 included a pledge, speeches, and a quiz competition. Class 5 students participated ina Sapling Plantation Drive to promote greenery, while Class 8 students engaged in a Creative Recycling activity, crafting decorative items from used plastic. These initiatives inspired students to embrace environmental responsibility and take action toward a cleaner, greener planet.
