Karkkidaka Food Fest is a culturally rich, community-driven celebration in Kerala held during the Malayalam month of Karkidakam. The festival showcases wholesome, traditional Ayurvedic and seasonal foods. As part of the Karkidaka month celebrations, our school organized the Karkkidaka Food Fest on July 25, 2025, to promote awareness of traditional health practices, nutritious food, and the value of medicinal plants. The event featured a wide range of wholesome dishes such as Karkkidaka kanji, Njavara rice kanji, payasam, herbal snacks, and ginger coffee, prepared by students under the guidance of parents and teachers. A medicinal plant exhibition was also held, displaying plants like tulsi, neem, aloe vera, curry leaves, ginger, and turmeric, with informative labels and explanations from teachers about their health benefits. The festival served as an enriching experience, inspiring students to embrace traditional food habits and natural remedies for a healthier lifestyle.
