Amrita Vidyalayam, Mangaluru, conducted Samskriti Puja on the auspicious occasion of Guru Poornima, a day dedicated to honoring and expressing gratitude to the beloved parents of students. The event was marked by deep reverence and spiritual devotion, as students, teachers, and parents gathered for a meaningful celebration.
The day commenced with a traditional welcome of the chief guest, Sri Ranjan Bellarpady, the Chief Coordinator of Ramakrishna Mission – Swacch Mangaluru, the school’s correspondent Sampoojya Swamini Mangalamrita Prana, and the administrator Ms. Deepa Manoj through the Poorna Kumbha ritual. The serene atmosphere was set by the soulful school prayer, followed by the lighting of the divine lamp, symbolizing the commencement of the sacred occasion.
B Sanketh Bhat of Grade 10 explained the significance of Guru Poornima, emphasizing the importance of expressing gratitude towards one's teachers and parents. A special highlight of the event was the Guru Paduka Pooja, a sacred ritual performed at the lotus feet of Beloved Amma. Mr. Jay Padmashali of Grade 10 had the divine opportunity to perform the pooja under the guidance of Mrs. Mridula, evoking deep feelings of devotion and respect.
To further create a spiritual ambiance, students under the guidance of Mr. Abhishek engaged in bhajan singing, with the team AYUDH – Media of Eternity adding to the vibrancy of the event. Swamini Amma, in her address, spoke of the importance of building a loving bond between parents and children, emphasizing the need to approach every aspect of life with a high perspective.
The occasion saw parents honoring their children, with Mrs. Yashaswini Avinash, the proud mother of Jay Padmashali, sharing her gratitude for the value-based and spiritual learning imparted by the institution. The honorary guest, Yoga Ratna Gopalakrishna Delampady, expressed his appreciation for the school’s efforts in nurturing Indian culture among children in today’s modern generation.
The event concluded with the chanting of the Shanti Mantra by the students, offering prayers for peace and universal well-being, followed by the distribution of Prasad. The entire program was hosted by Ms. Shwetha Pai, with Ms. Rakha Kamath welcoming the guests and Ms. Vanamala Shenoy delivering the vote of thanks.
