Amrita Vidyalayam, Vatakara, observed Hiroshima Day and conducted a speech on the topic "Nuclear Disarmament" on August 06, 2024.

Children of 6th standard gave a speech and done chart work on Kargil victory day at Amrita Vidyalayam Vatakara.

Our school celebrated Umbrella Day, a fun-filled event designed to delight our kindergarten students. They learned a lively dance routine, showcased their colorful umbrellas, and enjoyed a musical experience that strengthened their affection for the school.

Reading Day was observed on June 19 to promote reading habits. Mrs. Neethi delivered a speech on the importance of reading, followed by an enactment of the play 'Elves and the Shoemaker'. In connection with the observance of Reading Day, a book fair was held at school to ignite passion for reading in children. In an era dominated by screens and digital entertainment, this event aimed to redirect their enthusiasm towards the joy of reading. The fair was a huge success, with children eagerly purchasing books to start or expand their personal libraries at home.

In connection with World Environment Day, our 8th graders conducted an interview with a farmer/ Environmentalist, Mr. Krishnan Koodathil. The students cleared their queries regarding the harmful effects of using chemicals in farming, application of pesticides and the threat of natural disasters due to human interference. The resource person insisted the need to respect nature and the significance of living in harmony with nature.

Day Against Child Labour was observed on June 12, to raise awareness among students, featuring a speech by Unnikrishnan of grade V.

Oceans Day was celebrated on June 10, to promote ocean protection. KG students participated by creating posters and crafts on the theme.

Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21, 2024, with demonstrations by Mr. Sreekumar, the school's yoga instructor, and students.

Amrita Vidyalayam Vatakara celebrated Onam with vibrant festivities. The students took part in a series of fun-filled activities, including the traditional Pookalam making, dance performances, and exciting games. The grand finale included a traditional Onam Sadhya (feast) for all staff, teachers, and students, bringing the community together to celebrate Kerala’s rich cultural heritage.

Amrita Vidyalayam Vatakara marked World Food Safety Day with engaging and informative activities led by students. The day was dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of food safety and its impact on public health.

Students participated actively by delivering speeches on various aspects of food safety, emphasizing the significance of proper handling, storage, and preparation of food to prevent contamination and ensure consumer well-being. In addition, creative chart work was displayed, showcasing innovative ideas and information related to food safety practices.
