In memory of the legend P. N. Panicker, widely regarded as the Father of the Indian Library Movement, Amrita Vidyalayam Changanassery observed Reading Week from 19th June to 25th June with a variety of enriching activities. The celebration included engaging programmes such as quiz competitions, poster making, article writing, and a museum visit. Students created thoughtful posters on themes like Reading Week and the Library Movement. A house-wise quiz competition on literature was conducted by Class XII students, where Chinmayi House emerged as the winner. Students from Classes 6 to 12 actively participated by sharing reviews of the latest books they had read, encouraging peer discussions and promoting reading habits. As part of the celebration, Class 8 students were taken on an educational visit to the AKSHARAM Museum, India’s first museum dedicated to language, literature and culture, run by the Sahitya Pravarthaka Cooperative Society. It was a refreshing and eye-opening experience for the young learners. The enthusiastic participation of our students throughout Reading Week reaffirms our belief that we are nurturing a generation of thoughtful readers who will contribute positively to society.
