World Computer Literacy Day is observed annually on December 2 to celebrate and promote computer education globally. This day highlights the importance of digital skills and computer literacy in adapting to the rapidly evolving technological landscape. The theme for 2024, “Empowering Generations Through Digital Literacy,” underscores the need to equip individuals across all age groups with essential digital skills.
At our school, we embraced the spirit of this theme with meaningful celebrations. The day began with inspiring speeches by Vivekanand Ajai Selen of Grade XI and Dhwani Ashwin Menon of Grade IV. Their speeches emphasized the significance of computer literacy, discussed the advantages and disadvantages of technology, and encouraged everyone to be responsible digital citizens for the betterment of society and the future.
The celebrations continued with a PowerPoint presentation for students of Grade VI on the topic “Computer Literacy: An Essential Skill for the Digital Age.” The session covered key aspects such as hardware, software, connectivity, and the diverse applications of computers. Our Head Boy, Parameswar Suresh of Grade XI, along with the Head of the Computer Department, delivered this presentation, making it engaging and informative.
Additionally, the Computer Department organized a special session for the teaching faculty to enhance their digital literacy skills, helping them stay updated with the latest trends and tools in technology.
The day was highly informative and motivating, inspiring students and staff alike to deepen their knowledge and proficiency in computers and related fields.
