Amrita Vidyalayam, Kovur, Secures 1st Prize in Silambam at International Youth Game Championship 2025

T. Tharun of class IV, a student of Amrita Vidyalayam Senior Secondary School, Kovur, demonstrated outstanding skill and dedication in the International Youth Game Championship 2025. The event held at the Nehru Stadium in Goa under the NYSEF India banner. He secured 1st prize in Silambam. His exceptional performance in this ancient martial art involving mastery over weapon handling, precision, and strategic movements stood out amidst strong competition. This achievement highlights not only his physical abilities but also his commitment to excellence in the martial arts discipline.

Amrita Vidyalayam Shines in District Open Yogasana Sports Championship 2025

Amrita Vidyalayam, Thuckalay, takes immense pride in the outstanding achievements of its young and talented students in the District Open Yogasana Sports Championship 2025. The prestigious event was conducted by Atma Jyothi Yoga Centre on 15th February 2025 at Nagercoil, where our students displayed exemplary skill and dedication.

N. B. Maneeshwar of Class VII A emerged victorious, securing the first position in the championship with his remarkable performance and graceful yogasana postures. His unwavering commitment and perseverance have brought great honor to the school.

Outstanding Artistic Achievement

The Elementary Grade and Intermediate Grade Drawing Competition was held in September, providing a wonderful platform for students to showcase their artistic skills. In the Elementary Grade Drawing Competition, 4 students from Std VIII and 6 students from Std VII secured A grades, demonstrating their creativity and dedication to art. Their efforts reflected both talent and hard work, making the competition a grand success. 

Grand Celebration Of Shivjayanti

The school celebrated Shiv jayanti with great enthusiasm and reverence, honoring the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The event began with a vibrant skit and dance performance showcasing the significance of Shivajanmotsav. The students beautifully enacted scenes from Shivaji Maharaj's life.  The audience was captivated by the students' energetic performance, which highlighted the bravery and wisdom of the great Marathawarrior.

Celebrating Young Artists

The Navneet Drawing Competition was held in September, where students showcased their artistic talents with enthusiasm. The competition encouraged creativity, and the best performers were rewarded for their efforts. A total of 34 students from different grades received prizes for their outstanding artwork. Their dedication and imagination were beautifully reflected in their drawings. 

Victory In Drama Competition

The Sakal NIE Natya Spardha conducted a drama competition in February, where our school participated and delivered a powerful performance.  The skit was " Sainiki Rakt" drama based on the life of a military family, depicting the sacrifices of a soldier and his father, who was also a Major. The story revolved around the soldier’s return home after two months of leave, only to be called back for duty due to an emergency. Tragically, he lost his life in war while bravely serving the nation.

Young Minds Shine In IGKO

The Science Olympiad Foundation organized the International General Knowledge Olympiad (IGKO) for the academic year 2024-25 in November. The students participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their knowledge and intelligence. Their hard work and dedication paid off as 23 students from Std I to IX received the prestigious Gold Medal of Excellence. Among them, 1 student from Std I, 3 from Std II, 2 from Dtd III, 5 from Std IV, 3 from Std V, 3 from Std VI, 4 from Std VII, 1 from Std VIII, and 1 from Std IX achieved this remarkable feat.

Shining Stars In Shloka Competition

Samarth Bharat Abhiyan recently organized the Manache Shlok competition for students from LKG to Std XII. Our young talents participated with great enthusiasm, showcasing their dedication to Sanskrit and spiritual learning. In the junior category, Hiranya Sapre of U.K.G. secured the 1st rank, while Sahayadri Ghodke of L.K.G. achieved the 2nd rank. Additionally, Sahayadri also received a consolation prize in the Dadasaheb Ekbote Interschool Sanskrit Shloka Competition. Anushree Vaidya of U.K.G A was also recognized with a consolation prize, making us all proud of their efforts.
