A literary competition is an event that encourages participants to express their creativity through writing and speaking activities such as essays, stories, poems, or debates. Its purpose is to develop language skills and foster a love of literature. Our school recently hosted a vibrant Literary Competition aimed at fostering a love for literature and encouraging students to express themselves creatively through writing.

On 23rd July 2025, Amrita Vidyalayam Thalassery hosted the Karkkidaka Food Fest with great enthusiasm to promote the traditional and medicinal food culture of Kerala. Students, guided by teachers and parents, showcased a wide variety of seasonal dishes including Karkkidaka Kanji, Pathila Thoran, and other Ayurvedic recipes prepared with indigenous herbs and leaves.

On Pi Day, Amrita Vidyalayam, Manjeri, celebrated the iconic constant π (Pi), which has fascinated mathematicians and scientists for centuries. The school organized a dance performance and speech that aimed to promote mathematical awareness and inspire curiosity, creativity, and innovative thinking in the minds of young students. The event helped students appreciate the significance of Pi, the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter, while engaging them in the excitement of learning mathematics in an enjoyable and interactive way.

Amrita Vidyalayam, Manjeri, began the sacred month of Karkadaka by celebrating the glory of Lord Rama. Students chanted hymns from the Adikavya Ramayana, filling the air with melodious reverence. Avarnya from Class 7 led the Ramayana hymns, while the Principal introduced the significance of Lord Rama's name, His journey, and the character sketch of Anjaneya. The Academic Coordinator further enriched the students’ understanding of the Ramayana, imparting its timeless wisdom and the importance of devotion, perseverance, and righteousness.

Amrita Vidyalayam, Manjeri, celebrated Vyasapoornima with reverence and devotion, honoring the great lineage of Gurus. The day was marked by a serene and thoughtful atmosphere as students performed a heartwarming skit on the famous krti, 'Mathrpancakam,' by Jagadguru Sree Sankaracharya Swami. Ms. Salini, a faculty member, explained the significance of the krti, ensuring that students understood its profound meaning. The event was a beautiful tribute to the wisdom of the Gurus, fostering respect for knowledge and learning among the students.
 

At Amrita Vidyalayam, Manjeri, competition is seen as an excellent opportunity for students to hone their skills and unlock their potential. On July 2025, the school organized a series of competitions, including Versification, Essay Writing, and Story Writing in both English and Malayalam. These contests aimed to foster a healthy competitive spirit among students, encouraging them to develop sagacity, creativity, and keen acumen. The events helped identify hidden talents and nurtured students' literary abilities, contributing to their all-around development.
 

On July 22nd, Amrita Vidyalayam Thalassery celebrated Pi Approximation Day with engaging and fun-filled activities. Students enthusiastically took part in math quizzes, poster making, and interactive sessions exploring the significance of π (22/7).

The event sparked curiosity and helped students appreciate the role of Pi in mathematics, making the day a perfect blend of learning, creativity, and discovery.

The students of Amrita Vidyalayam, Manjeri, were in for a delicious treat as the school celebrated World Chocolate Day. The day was filled with fun, joy, and, of course, chocolates. Toddlers savored homemade chocolates, explored new flavors, and enjoyed chocolate cakes while sharing the sweet experience with their friends. The event was a perfect opportunity for the little ones to indulge in the rich, vibrant hues and goodness of chocolates, bringing smiles to their faces and fostering a sense of community and togetherness.
 

Amrita Vidyalayam, Manjeri, observed Doctors' Day in a heartwarming tribute to the medical professionals who dedicate their lives to the health and well-being of society. Students reflected on the contributions of doctors and shared their appreciation through a touching program. Athulya, an eighth-grade student, eloquently expressed the importance of compassion and precision in healthcare. Dr. Parameswaran, pediatrician at Korambayil Hospital, joined the students, offering insightful guidance on topics such as proper nutrition, hygiene, and the significance of healthy food practices.

On July 26th, Amrita Vidyalayam Thalassery observed Kargil Vijay Diwas with heartfelt tributes to the valiant soldiers who safeguarded the nation’s honour during the Kargil War. Students participated in special assemblies, Poster making and speeches that reflected the spirit of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism. The event inspired students to respect the sacrifices of our armed forces and uphold the values of unity and national pride.
