Quit India Day is observed on 9th August every year to remember the historic Quit India Movement launched in 1942 during India’s struggle for independence.

On this day, Mahatma Gandhi gave the famous call of "Do or Die" at the All India Congress Committee session in Bombay (now Mumbai). The movement demanded that the British immediately leave India. It sparked widespread protests, strikes, and acts of civil disobedience across the country.
